Construction and technology of the FU1700 metal milling machine

The universal milling head can be swivelled in two planes. Combining both adjustment ranges makes it possible to position the tool at the appropriate angle relative to the machined surface and to switch efficiently between vertical and horizontal configurations. This solution extends the range of possible operations without the need for a separate machine tool.

The vertical spindle operates within the range of 50-1520rpm, while the horizontal spindle operates within the range of 60-1850rpm. Twelve speed steps for each spindle enable the rotational speed to be selected according to the tool diameter and process requirements. The ISO50 tapers are suitable for use with tooling employed on professional metal milling machines.

Machining precision and efficiency

Feed on the X and Y axes can be adjusted within the range of 25~800mm/min, while the Z-axis feed range is 8~267mm/min. Servo drive torque is 12N.m. These parameters allow the working speed to be set appropriately for both rough machining and more precise finishing operations.

The 700mm upper arm travel and the 200-850mm distance from the vertical spindle to the table allow the working space to be adapted to the height of the workpiece, tool length and tooling used.
