Design and technology

The heart of the CORMAK TORNADO 460x1000 lathe is a massive, precisely machined cast iron bed, which guarantees stability in all conditions. The D1-8 spindle nose, mounted on a reinforced bearing system, ensures high rigidity and smooth operation at speeds ranging from 25 to 2000 rpm. Thanks to the use of hardened and ground gears, the spindle gearbox is characterised by exceptional durability and quiet operation.

Precision and working efficiency

The built-in digital position readout in the X and Z axes enables precise tool positioning, resulting in high process repeatability. The joystick for rapid feeds simplifies carriage movement and reduces set-up and finishing time. Thanks to the thread dial indicator, the operator can easily engage the carriage at the correct moment without recalculating thread pitches.
