CORMAK BS370H semi-automatic metal band saw
CORMAK BS370H is a robust semi-automatic band saw designed for precise cutting of tubes, profiles and solid materials.
The new version is equipped with a top clamp for bundle cutting and stepless blade speed adjustment via inverter from 20–90m/min. These solutions increase the machine's capabilities and make it easier to adapt operating parameters to the type of material being processed.
Top clamp for bundle cutting
The clamp stabilises stacked workpieces and limits their movement during operation. It allows more efficient cutting of bundles of profiles, tubes and other repetitive components.
20–90m/min inverter
Stepless blade speed adjustment enables precise selection of cutting parameters according to the cross-section, thickness and type of material, without being limited to several fixed speeds.
Key advantages
- Top material clamp – stable and efficient bundle cutting.
- Stepless speed adjustment 20–90m/min – blade speed selection using an inverter.
- Semi-automatic operation – hydraulic material clamping, arm lowering and raising.
- Angle cutting from -45° to +60° – wide range of cutting operations.
- Hydraulically controlled vice – fast and repeatable material clamping.
- Stepless arm descent adjustment – greater control over the cutting process.
- Guides with carbide inserts and bearings – precise blade guidance.
- Closed-circuit cooling system – cooling of the cutting zone and heat dissipation.
- Blade tension sensor – convenient monitoring of correct blade tension.
- Automatic stop if the blade breaks – additional machine protection.
Efficient bundle cutting
The integrated top clamp enables several components stacked on top of one another to be stabilised. This is particularly useful when cutting profiles, tubes and other materials with repetitive dimensions in series.
The material is held both by the vice and from above, limiting the movement and lifting of individual components in the bundle as the blade passes through.
Stepless blade speed adjustment
The blade speed can be adjusted steplessly from 20 to 90m/min. The inverter allows the operating parameters to be adapted to the type and cross-section of the material and the nature of the cutting operation.
The operator is not limited to two factory-set speeds. The blade speed can be selected more precisely for cutting thin-walled profiles, tubes, structural sections and solid materials, among others.
Semi-automatic operating cycle
After positioning the material and starting the cycle, the machine automatically performs the successive cutting stages:
- the hydraulic vice clamps the material,
- the saw arm lowers at the set speed,
- the blade performs the cut,
- the limit switch detects the end of the cycle,
- the arm is hydraulically raised to its initial position.
The operator focuses primarily on positioning and feeding the material, while the main cutting cycle proceeds in a controlled and repeatable manner.
Precise blade guidance
The blade guides use sintered carbide inserts and bearings. This solution ensures stable blade guidance and helps maintain a straight cutting line.
The rigid arm and body made of spheroidal graphite cast iron reduce the structure's susceptibility to twisting, which is important when cutting larger cross-sections and solid materials.
Straight and mitre cutting
The swivelling arm enables cuts within a range of -45° to +60°. The material can remain in one position while the operator sets the required angle of the saw arm.
| Maximum cutting diameter at 90° | Ø270mm |
| Maximum square cross-section at 90° | 220 × 220mm |
| Maximum rectangular cross-section at 90° | 370 × 220mm |
Stable construction and cooling system
The blade drive is transmitted through a worm gearbox. The cast-iron worktable and substantial base provide stable support for the machine during operation.
The upper section of the base forms a tray for collecting coolant and chips generated during cutting. An efficient pump operates in a closed circuit, directing coolant straight to the machining zone.
