Description

A healthier and safer working environment

Welding fumes are not just an unpleasant smell and reduced visibility. Above all, they are a mixture of very fine particles and compounds which, in enclosed halls, can rapidly deteriorate working conditions. The OS1400 was designed to capture fumes and exhaust gases at source, before they spread across the workstation and throughout the hall. This allows the operator to work in a cleaner environment, whilst making it easier for the plant to maintain health and safety standards and keep workstations tidy.

High performance in demanding conditions

A key advantage of the OS1400 is its combination of high suction power with a high air flow rate (m³/h). In practice, this means stable and effective extraction of contaminants even during intensive work when there is a lot of fume (e.g. during continuous welding, joining thicker components, or longer welds). High performance helps to minimise smoke ‘escaping’ around the work area and improves visibility, which directly enhances the quality of the work and the welder’s comfort.

Quiet operation – greater comfort at the workstation

The unit’s quiet operation is also of great importance in everyday use. The OS1400 is fitted with a soundproofed fan chamber, which reduces noise and allows the unit to operate close to the welding station. This is particularly important in workshops and halls where several workstations are in operation simultaneously and every bit of additional noise matters. Quieter operation facilitates communication at the workstation, improves the operator’s concentration and genuinely enhances comfort throughout the entire shift.

Automatic filter cleaning – consistent performance

The CORMAK OS1400 has also been designed with ease of use and consistent performance over time in mind. That is why an automatic pneumatic filter cleaning system has been fitted. In practice, this means that the filter is regularly ‘tapped’ to remove accumulated contaminants without the need for frequent manual intervention.

The result is twofold: firstly, the extraction system maintains a consistent level of performance; secondly, you minimise service downtime and operating costs. In a production environment, this is of paramount importance, as any unplanned downtime or drop in extraction flow affects the workflow and the quality of working conditions at the workstation.

Extraction force regulation tailored to the task

An additional advantage is the ability to adjust the flow of fumes and exhaust gases at the suction connection. This solution allows the extraction force to be tailored to actual requirements: it will differ for short spot welds, for long continuous welding, and again for grinding work. Adjustment at the inlet allows for quick customisation ‘to suit the operator’ without time-consuming configuration changes.

This makes it easier to strike a balance between extraction efficiency and working comfort (e.g. when working on smaller parts, where excessively strong suction could hinder handling of the component).

Robust construction and mobility

The OS1400 is designed for everyday use, which is why great emphasis has been placed on high build quality. Its robust construction is well-suited to workshop and industrial environments — where units are frequently moved, operate for many hours a day and must withstand intensive use.

Its mobility makes it easy to use the extraction unit at different workstations without having to invest in a permanent installation throughout the entire workshop. This is a practical solution both for companies with several workstations and for those that frequently change their layout or carry out a variety of jobs.

Wide range of applications

In practice, the OS1400 proves its worth wherever air pollution occurs: during welding (MIG/MAG, TIG), metalwork, grinding and other processes that generate dust and fumes. Its purpose is to improve working conditions by reducing pollution in the operator’s breathing zone. This solution benefits the team’s health and comfort at work, whilst also enhancing the workplace’s reputation as a modern and safe environment.
